Talk 1: The Joy of BiteSized, applying simplicity to work ensuring better results

Michael Bosonnet - Strategist, founder of RADAR by Michael Bosonnet. Big data and analytics consultancy

By focusing on your core strengths, you can achieve goals and gain experience that can be highly valuable in your career. A report from the government indicates the significant opportunity for big data and analytics savvy professionals in Ireland now and in the future. These are not data scientists nor programmers. Rather professionals who realise this opportunity and take it upon themselves to explore and develop new skills. Working in agencies, Michael has gained exposure to many types of businesses at different levels and has realised opportunities using data analytics. This led him to develop RADAR which merges tradition and technology to empower more informed decision making, beyond the scope of traditional insight methods.

About Michael:
Michael is an award-winning, big data and analytics strategist. Building his skills as a strategist during his career to date, he has found success in his own business consultancy RADAR. Known as The Friendly Detective, he explores what is possible with data and insight for SMEs and larger corporates. His involvement and project leadership has enabled many clients both in Ireland and internationally to achieve success. He has trained agencies and businesses to understand fundamental big data and analytics. Michael lectures in developing insight through data analytics and speaks at events.

Talk 3: Aspirations: Designing a Product from the Outside-In
Hannah Lennon - UX Researcher, Kinzen

What does it look like when you create a product that aims to rebuild trust and engagement in online news and journalism? What does it look like when you let users aspirations guide the design of this product?

Hannah will share the process in which she went through to help Kinzen develop form an aspirational idea of reimagining online news and journalism to a consumer-facing app.

Hear how societal grievances towards online news and media sparked the creation of Kinzen and hear how user aspirations where translated to in order to design a news app that aims to re-engage the disengaged.

About Hannah:
Hannah leads User Research in Kinzen. With her background in Psychology and Cyberpsychology Hannah guides product design by highlighting the social and digital context in which the user finds themselves in today. Hannah joined Kinzen because she saw the opportunity to fix a broken system and to challenge a system of online misinformation and manipulation.
