Happy New Year. Dublin UX kicks off our 2019 season on Wednesday, 30th January. We have lined up two speakers who will bring us “back to understanding”, which is our theme this month.

This is our last event to be held at Indeed as we bring our Indeed Prime sponsorship to a close. We have been incredibly lucky to have worked with Indeed Prime this last year and I’m sure you’ll join us in thanking them for their very generous and warm hospitality. We love them!

Talk 1: Laurence Veale: Revisiting Personas & Goal Directed Design

Back to this month, our first speaker is Laurence Veale with a talk entitled “Revising Personas & Goal Directed Design”. Laurence is Lead UX Designer in AIB, working on their new Business Banking platform. Prior to that he spent twelve years in iQ Content and Each&Other. He will take us “back to understanding” the power and importance of user personas, taking us beyond the basics into the real strength of the persona around goal directed design.

Talk 2: Barry Healy: The Design System Landscape in 2019

Our second speaker is Barry Healy, a UX Designer specialising in Design Systems with the Optum UX Design Studio. He will take us “back to understanding” the highly competitive design systems landscape through an opinionated tour and evaluation of some of the more established and known Design Systems available today.
